Scenario:
As a civil engineer working for the New York State Transportation Department,
you are responsible for designing and building a bridge that will carry a two
lane highway over the Hudson River from Haverstraw to
Ossining. Your task is to build a model and test its structure to
ensure it is safe for operation.

Balsa wood, wood glue, paper, graph paper.
Tools:
Ruler, scissors, stick cutter, pliers.
Constraints:

Bridge must
span 10” in length, (no less, no more).

Bridge width is
up to designer.

Maximum height
of 5”, minimum of 1”.

Bridge must
only be constructed using materials given above.

Bridge must be
capable of hooking weight onto the center of bridge.
